Album Review

An album and a half! Anitta's "KISSES" is out to to conquer

April 05, 2019

Today, Anitta has decided to bombard YouTube with her album, KISSES, and get this...she has launched videos for all 10 songs in her album! I have to admit that I have never ever seen an artist do that (If there are, I do not know who he/she/they are)...also, did I mention that this whole album is trilingual (Portuguese, Spanish and English) ?

Anyway, I have just finished watching all 10 videos and I have to tell you guys, I am yet to encounter an album with so much diversity, it is even creepy than impressive. Just to give you a rundown of the tracklist:

Anitta decides to infuse her vivacious character and a whole enchilada of sexual innuendos into Banana, featuring  Becky G. And that is just about as good as it gets...Thank you, next!

On the other hand, Poquito, featuring Swae Lee, touches one with Swae Lee's mellifluous auto-tuned vocals as described by The Guardian.

The album bursts with more life in songs like Atención and watching the video, one cannot help but admit that she was thoroughly enjoying the entire process and the vocals infuse seamlessly with the awesome beats!

She brings on board Ludmilla and Snoop Dogg featuring Papatinho for the banger, Onda Differente, and Snoop's rap is just the right amount of disturbing and has the right pinch of perverseness.

I was thoroughly impressed by how laid back and Caribbean her Tu Y Yo, featuring Chris Marshall was as it turned the entire jam into the perfect love song and the Caribbean vibe brought on by Marshall only aimed to ace the game.

Sin Miedo was more of a daring escape into an unknown side of Anitta and she clearly had no fear as the song suggests as she went kissing and caressing everyone, showing nothing but love for the night and the music. Not to mention the wonderful work that was done by DJ Luian and Mambo Kingz on the track.

Get to Know Me featuring Alesso was a much-needed blend of some Anitta and Alesso..also Anitta and the mannequin? - Priceless! I actually found it boring when the man of blood and flesh came into the picture...

So, Rosa featuring Prince Royce is a very elusive and mysterious track (well the video makes it seem so)...and that cute Prince Royce made sure that his vocals made the song ever more elusive and dreamy. I melted at this one - in any case, the excessive kissing in the video wasn't helping...

Latin Pop evidences itself the Reggaeton infused Juego and clearly each of the words in the songs set to assert the affirmation of Anitta as being a commanding and respectable Lady Boss.

And did Anitta just get Caetano Veloso to feature on her soothing and revealing Você mentiu?...clearly whoever was lying needed to hear it and hear it right...

This album has infused many sound types and has shown Anitta as the all-rounded artist who can pull off any type and nail it hands down!
