Moses and the Ten Commandments Season 1 : The top 5 characters of the season

November 05, 2019

We recently completed Moses and the Ten Commandments ' first season (2/10/2019) on KTN Kenya and with so much action that led up to the finale when the Hebrews were let go and faced the Amalekites in the wilderness, there were characters who made the entire show very much worthwhile and engaged viewers in a catharsis of emotions. The first season gave us many characters to cherish but these 5 were a joy to watch as they did what they were all good at.

1. Yunet

Undoubtedly the top in the list, Yunet was the vilest of all villains encountered in the telenovela. Responsible for many things, to mention a few, cause of Henutmire not having any biological children of her own, killing Pharaoh Seti 1, spilling to Moses the fact that his Hebrew family was still alive against Henutmire's wishes, killing Maya, and a whole bunch of other stuff only the devil would concoct, actress ADRIANA GARAMBONE was sure to give life and substance to the character of Yunet, so much so that her death during the plague of hail and fire was a reason for immense sadness among viewers who were always on toes for her next evil move.

2. Simut

Simut is a pure-breed knucklehead, to say the least. His comedic antics and expressions made the public fall in love with him instantly. Not only did he have the capacity to make us laugh, but he also made us fall madly in love with the show and awaiting his next stupid remarks was a highlight for anyone watching the show. Simut, played by actor RENATO LIVERA, is very kind and gentle, so his clumsiness and innocent idiocy is an open respite to making him all the more interesting for us to watch, and we are more than thrilled that his royal puerileness has made it into season 2.

3. Ramses

Hir Royal Sexiness, The handsome king. He has the face, the body, the aura, but above all the tyranny that made him all the more fun to watch. Ramses was a crossbreed of someone who has a grand capacity to be ruthless while at the same time, could show some compassion especially when it came to Moses, whom he loved initially like a brother. His stubbornness irked us, but none of us minded seeing him shirtless at the Nile. The actor SERGIO MARONE gave Ramses all the qualities of a leader who was effective in thinking about the prosperity of his beloved Pi-Ramses, while at the same time successfully exuding a pervasive aura of arrogance that top-billed Ramses in the eyes of the public.

4. Apuki

We have to congratulate actor HEITOR MARTINEZ for his role as Apuki in the show. Married to a Hebrew, yet he loathed the race to the core. Apuki left nothing short of making us hate his sick guts, with evils like mercilessly killing Nun, which would have been the best reason for Joshua to hate him all the more, but the Hebrew chose to let it go for the love of his ( Apuki ) daughter, Anna. Apuki is an embodiment of the truest forms of prejudice and racism in the society, and the effects which it had even in pre-Jesus times. The actor put his all into the character and looks like it turned out magnificently done and above all convincing.

5. Nefertari

What made Nefertari undoubtedly annoying, in the long run, was the fact that she was queen and possessed immense power as a sovereign and the queen of the Two Lands. CAMILA RODRIGUES did a wonderful job transitioning from the quiet, sensible and likeable Nefertari to a ruthless, arrogant and ill-informed queen that she was up until the last phase of season one. There was no doubt at all that the actress' portrayal of Nefertari was the best exhibition of personality shift under different circumstances. Well done Camila!
