So, I just found out today that Emmy nominated Globo telenovela, Total Dreamer, is airing on Switch TV Kenya.
As is the purpose of our blog, we will now share recaps of this amazing show as of tomorrow. Please note that I was not aware of the start of the show, as such, we are not starting from the beginning but we will recap from here it has got to tomorrow....
Here is the synopsis:
With an engaging story featuring a captivating cast, “Total Dreamer” is a modern fairytale that will win the audience’s heart right from the very beginning.
After escaping sexual harassment by her own drunken stepfather, Eliza (Marina Ruy Barbosa) runs away from home with the help of her mother, Gilda (Leona Cavalli), to try her luck in the big city. Her ultimate dream is to provide a better life for her mother and siblings.
When she gets robbed on her very first day there, Eliza ends up living in the streets - where she meets Jonatas (Felipe Simas), a charismatic guy who looks after parking spaces and sells candy by traffic lights. Eliza starts selling flowers to make a living with his help and they both develop a true friendship destined to become the most beautiful love story.
However, she did not anticipate destiny would bring her face to face again with lady-killer Arthur (Fábio Assunção from "Tropical Paradise"). They had met briefly before at Eliza’s family roadside joint while she still lived inland. Owner of Excalibur model agency, Arthur has an affair with the ambitious Carolina (Juliana Paes from “India, a Love Story”), editor-in-chief at the famous fashion magazine Total Dreamer. Carolina defies Arthur on a bet to transform Eliza into a model capable of winning a beauty contest.
As Eliza goes through a major makeover, Arthur falls in love with her. On the other hand, Eliza feels torn between Jonatas’ love and Arthur’s spell. Driven by her envy, Carolina will try everything in order to ruin things for the new girl.
With over 30 million viewers in Brazil and Portugal, “Total Dreamer” was a massive audience hit and a true lab of innovations. Shot partially in Australia and Uruguay and taking place within the fashion business, the telenovela is a romantic story about overcoming life’s obstacles.
The telenovela stars Marina Ruy Barbosa, Fábio Assunção, Felipe Simas the legendary Juliana Paes, Humberto Martins, Paulo Rocha and Juliana Paiva.
Total Dreamer airs daily at 7 p.m. on Switch TV. It also starts airing on Nina TV as of Monday, 29th October/2018 at 6 p.m.
